Hello from Health for Life,
My name is Lori Madgett and Health for Life is my company. My title(s) are; Personal Care Product Maker, Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and Doula. I have always enjoyed helping people and each branch of my company enables me to connect with people. My goal is to help discover paths for a healthier life.
My past career gave me a great sense of accomplishment. I was able to work alongside young children in an incredible educational environment. Many years in Montessori teaching taught me how to learn, love and teach information. I still have many wonderful friendships with former students and their families.
In the beginning my business plan was truthfully “no plan”. I was making deodorant and body butter for myself and my family (6 women under the same roof). My goal was to provide natural skincare that my teenagers would use. Daily the girls would hear me say “you should be willing/able to eat whatever you put on the outside of your body”. They do not always agree with me, they are teenagers, but they do use my products and enjoy them. Being proud of my deodorant and body butter I started to give it to friends and family as gifts. Health for Life had it’s start when people asked to purchase my products. I received a lot of positive feedback and I am thrilled to be able to make them available to whomever is interested. My passion is to provide good quality natural personal care products that are gentle on your body as well as the environment.
The quote I began this letter with is a direct result of how I am feeling today. I love creating new products. Last month my 13-year-old asked me to make her a different deodorant as she wasn’t a fan of the Earth or Pink scents. I went into research mode and came up with my newest deodorant called Creamsicle and she LOVES the combination of citrus essential oils! Being in my kitchen coming up with new ideas, or tweaking already existing ones, is incredibly satisfying. Today I have created my first ever Shampoo bars! My product line began with Pink deodorant and Lavender/peppermint body butter. In addition to the original items It has expanded to include; Earth deodorant, Cremsicle deodorant, Citrus body butter, a variety of body soaps, peppermint lip balm (mask) and now two types of shampoo bars, Lemon Shampoo Bar and Rosemary Shampoo Bar. I am happily creating each one.
